Homecoming

This weekend was Homecoming at my and K's alma mater Jacksonville State University. Most of you know that's also the Ford family hometown. K and I also lived there for the first few years of our marriage until just before the girls were born. So, it really was coming home for us. We went to the parade and to the bookstore and then to the place that NO ONE in the family can resist whenever we're in town....
That's right, eat your hearts out! J/K we really missed everyone and wished the whole family could have been with us. (Maybe at Christmas?) Anyway, here's what we ate....
However, after our feeding frenzy (all this was gone in about 5 minutes) we were heartbroken to find that they were OUT OF PEANUT BUTTER!!!!! No PB milkshakes for us :( boo!
After eating we went outside and enjoyed the parade. It's been at least two or three years since we've been to the parade and we had a lot of fun.
Evie shakin' her stuff as the bands march by.
Pretty colors...

Marching Ballerinas....

And none other than the JSU Marching Southerners, Blow Southerners!!!But these guys are my #1 favorite of the entire parade

They were walking, shaking shakers and yelling "Go Gamecocks!" They even tried to get K to join them! What good sports! And, BTW that's the most backhair I've seen in awhile. We had so much fun! Later we went to the school fall festival more on that next time. Love ya!

Mom told me about the Cecil's trip. I guess you guys had just left when I called. Sorry we missed you. We got the package and the books and DVDs from you guys. We're having a Scooby-Doo marathon today!
We'll definitely be taking a trip to Cecil's over the Christmas break.

The Man Cave has just informed me that PB milkshakes can be found at Sonic. Although not as good as Cecil's they will do in a pinch. Sorry, hope this helps, a pregnant woman with a craving is a dangerous thing! ;)

You have no idea how badly I wanted to be there! We have been secluded bats for a while now and I'm going stir crazy. There is a reason and it's a long story but we will see you guys by Thanksgiving for sure. I still want a trip before that since Danny is going to be gone two weeks in Nov. He will be here for Thanksgiving though. Love you and MISS YOU!

I agree, Cecil's for Christmas!! I miss good food!! If I tried I might be able to replicate it, maybe. But I'd rather let the professionals of Cecil's make my food! Love you guys and see you soon!!

Looks like you all had a wonderful weekend. I wish my kids would get more into school stuff like the football and such...I guess it will just take some time. Marlene raved about you this weekend. I hope you had a great day!

Oh, I know about the Sonic ones. They're ok, but my heart beats true for the Cecil's version.

Hm...wonder if I can get up there for one the weekend of my shower...they had better have peanut butter!
